Resubmitted direct debit banks

According to the rules concerning SEPA Direct Debit, there is a five day period during which bank reversals of payment due to an insufficient bank balance can be reported. Below, you’ll find a summary describing the way in which banks deal with reversals of payment according to the Dutch Payment Association.

Rabobank and SNS

A direct debit is executed immediately on the collection date. Reversal of payment takes place if the bank balance remains insufficient during four days after the direct debit was executed again.

ABN Amro

In case the bank balance is insufficient, the direct debit will not be executed but will be re-offered to a large number of customers for a period of four working days. If at one point during this period the balance is sufficient, the direct debit will be executed.

ING

If the bank balance is insufficient, the direct debit will not be executed, but will be re-offered for a period of two working days. If at one point during this period the balance is sufficient, the direct debit will be executed.

All information submitted by the banks to Buckaroo with regard to the result of the direct debit will be shared with the Merchants immediately. Buckaroo does not receive any information about the intermediate steps of the direct debit and their intermediate result, and will therefore not report on the matter.
